Baby’s First Christmas Gift

Christmas is such a special time of year. I have such fond memories of Christmas growing up and most children feel the same way.

I’ve come across a couple gift ideas that I think would make such a beautiful gift for a baby’s first christmas – one they can cherish for many years to come. They are both gifts that focus on the reason for Christmas – Jesus.

The gifts are:

Nativity Playset

Our kids love this Little People nativity playset by Fisher-Price. It comes out every year at Christmas (and sometimes in-between). My youngest is 4 and my eldest is 9 and they all still set it up and play with it when it comes out.

When you place the angel at the top of the stable it plays “Away in a Manger” and lights up the star. The little figurines are adorable.

It’s so nice to have a nativity playset that isn’t breakable and the kids can play with and act out the nativity story.

Music Box

I love this Christmas music box from Modocreative. The tune it plays is “Away in a Manger” – perfect for Christmas.

Music boxes are so fascinating to watch as you wind the handle and watch and listen as it makes the music. It’s so intricate and delicate how it all works.

There is the option to buy the music box with a lid that opens and closes with a latch or to buy it sealed shut (see bottom left example). This is a tough choice as the sealed lid will be safer for little ones, but it is sooo interesting to see how the music box works.

The music box can be personalised on the top with your choice of wording and there is also an extra option to include a personal message on the bottom of the box… how about “Jesus: God’s gift to you and me”.
